How it all got started
I was an artistically driven kid that grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. The moment I took my first ceramic class I was in love and couldn't put down the stuff. I received my BFA in ceramics and a minor in textiles from Kent State University in 2015. Directly after, I participated in a year long residency in Cincinnati, Ohio where I explored why I make pottery and who I make it for. Once the residency was over I moved back to Cleveland and jumped right back into a studio practice by doing a work trade with a local potter, who I am still working for currently. How it all gets made I throw and hand build functional pottery. Each piece is decorated by hand, which will be a unique piece of art in any home. The work presents my emotions and true self by using bright colors, silly faces and appealing patterns that pull the viewer in. The work is crafted well while still having a goofy twist or appeal to it all. I strive to bring joy into each recipient’s daily routine. |
